A Dwarf Vireo was near Azumbilla, Pue. 7 Mar (HGdS). A Happy Wren was heard at Zitácuaro, Mich. 1 Mar (HGdS). An Orange-billed Nightingale- Thrush was mist-netted at sea level at Santa Alejandrina marsh near Minatitlán, Ver. 1 May (JN, JAM, MJO, ph. MG). A European Starling was at Jiutepec, Mor. 4 Mar (HGdS). A molting male Scarlet Tanager was at Cerro Macuiltépetl, Ver. 10 May (ph. JAL), a third record for the site. A Prothonotary Warbler was at Rancho Andrea, Jal. 22 Apr (GH), and a Red Warbler was along the Laguna de Servín access road, Qro. 16 Mar (JH). A Red-breasted Chat was at Rancho Tierra Colorada 11 Apr (*APV). A Yellow-breasted Chat was at Tecamachalco, D.F. 15 May (NC). Two Golden-cheeked Warblers were mist-netted at Santa Alejandrina marsh near Minatitlán, Ver. 20 Mar, and a Townsend's Warbler was mist-netted there 18 Apr (JJ, MG). A male Lazuli Bunting was at La Pera, Mor. 5 Mar (HGdS). Two female Cinnamon-rumped Seedeaters were in Lerma marshes 1 Mar (HGdS). Late was a Vesper Sparrow at Presa Constitución del 1917, Qro. 7 May (JH). A Yellow-headed Blackbird accompanied a flock of cowbirds at the mouth of Río Jamapa at Boca del Río, Ver. 28 Apr (ph. LI). A female Rose-breasted Grosbeak was recorded in Samalayuca, Chih. 12 May (ph. IM), a state from which there are few if any documented records. A Band-tailed Pigeon was glimpsed at Huitzi - lac, Mor. 4 Mar (HGdS). A total of 12 Clark's Grebes was noted at San Gregorio Atlapulco, D.F. 10 May (JVS, NC). Six Semipalmated Plovers were at Presa Constitución del 1917, Qro. 11 Apr (ph. JH). A Marbled Godwit was at San Gregorio Atlapulco 10 May (JVS, NC). Héctor Gómez de Silva –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– SPRING –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– NORTHERN MEXICO A Little Blue Heron was at Presa Francisco Zarco, Dgo. 1 Apr (ph. BGS ph.). A male An - na's Hummingbird was seen at Las Auras Park in Lerdo, Dgo. 8 Mar (FVP); this the most com - mon urban hummingbird in the cities of the subregion and is seen year-round (FVP). Six - teen Fulvous and 80 Black-bellied Whistling- Ducks were seen at the wastewater treatment facility in Gómez Palacio, Dgo. 21 Mar (MRLL, DGD, BS, FVP). An active Wood Duck nest was seen in a fallen cottonwood in El Tasajillo at the Cañón de Fernández S.P. on the Nazas River in Lerdo, Dgo. The female was seen en - tering and leaving the fallen tree 25 Apr, and at least six eggs were photographed. Several ducklings were seen under the protection of the female 12 May, and a few days later the fe - male and ducklings left the nest towards the river (AISW). This is the first time an active nest has been documented and photographed in the subregion. A Zone-tailed Hawk was at Ojo de Agua de Colibríes, Nay. 14 May (FG). A Least Tern was inland at Presa La Juventud, N.L. (ph. AG). A Yellow-billed Cuckoo at Río Mezquital, Dgo. 7 Mar was early (JHMG). A Least Flycatcher at Chacalilla, Nay. 15 May rep - resents a late date (RV). A pair of Rock Wrens was at Volcán Ceboruco, Nay. 3 Mar (ph. SG). A Bewick's Wren was at Laguna de Tetelpitic, Nay. 9 Mar (MS). Single Tennessee Warblers, potentially the same individual, were recorded in the Guadi - ana Park, Durango, Dgo. 28 Mar and 11 Apr (ph. BS, BR, m.ob.). A male Prothonotary Warbler, perhaps just the second for Nuevo León, was along the Ojo de Agua road near Bustamante 23 May (ph. RV, ph. AG). A first re - cord for Durango was a Worm-eating Warbler
