The state saw a ma - jor influx of Pine Siskins, with reports from 17 locations as far s. as Brevard, Orange, and Charlotte; the highest count was of 100 at Tallahassee 21 Feb (J. Langley). The populations of Scaly-breast - ed Munia are continuing to grow at three distinct sites, with as many as 6 at Citrus Park, Hills - borough 16 Feb (Wayne Taylor), 10 wintering at Matheson Hammock Park (AxH et al.), and 201 at nine areas surveyed in Escambia and Santa Rosa 30 Jan–2 Feb (fide B&LDu). Six reports of Yellow-breasted Chats included singles in n. Florida at Destin, Okaloosa 14 Dec (Malcolm Swan) and Paynes Prairie Preserve through 14 Dec (LiD et al.). A rare winter visitor, a Banana - quit frequented Bahia Honda S.P. 21-26 Feb (Kathryn Dia, CGd, m.ob.). Formerly a very rare visi - tor, Western Spindalis has be- come increasingly regular, if still rare; a female was noted at Pine Trails Park, Broward 14 Dec (Gary Ellis). A single female Black-faced Grassquit was found at Bahia Honda S.P. 23 Feb+ (Gil Ewing). Four Henslow's Sparrows were re - ported, including one at Gum Root Swamp Park 3-21 Jan (AdZ), one at Lower Green Swamp Pre - serve 19 Jan (CFi) that provided the first Hill- sborough record, one banded at Weekiwachee Preserve 31 Jan (Marianne Korosy et al.), and one at Lake Kissimmee S.P. 28 Feb (CFr). A Fox Sparrow was reported at Gainesville 3 Jan (Matt O'Sullivan). Two reports of Dark-eyed Juncos included one at Gainesville 24-26 Dec (James Cox) and one s. to the cen. Gulf coast at Clear - water 2-4 Dec (Ryan Jacobs). Seven reports of Western Tanagers came from all across the n. half of the state, including one at Amelia Island 12 Feb (Bailey Struss) that provided the first Nassau record. Always rare in Florida, a male Lazuli Bunting appeared in Martin 28 Dec+ (Nancy LaFramboise et al.). An amazing 50 Yellow-headed Blackbirds wintered at Sem-Chi Rice Mill, Palm Beach (MaG et al.), with singles reported at Lakeshore, Polk 29 Dec (CFr), Wakodahatchee Wetlands through 19 Jan (Susan Young et al.), and Venice Rookery, Sarasota 4 Jan (Janet Paisley). Rusty Blackbirds were found at seven locations in the n. half of the state, with as many as 20 at Oviedo through 12 Dec (Scott Simmons), 6 at M&M Dairy 6-29 Dec (KDi), as many as 90 at Magnolia Park 20 Dec+ (LiD et al.), 30 at Weekiwachee Preserve 22 Dec (DGa, CFi), 2 at Brooker Creek Preserve 27 Dec (Tony Leukering), one w. of New Smyrna Beach 3 Jan (DoR et al.), and 20 at Lake Henrietta, Leon 14 Jan+ (ESc). A female Brewer's Blackbird wintered at Bayport Park (JMc). Shiny Cowbirds were found at three locations in s. Florida, with 3 at Homestead 3 Dec (LaM et al.), one male at Plant City 2 Feb (Mary Pothoven), and 8 at Sem- Chi Rice Mill 22 Feb (MaG). A male Bullock's Oriole gave birders a treat at Gainesville 21 Dec+ (Steven Goodman), and another male at Lake Marian Boat Ramp 25-27 Jan (Mark Hed - den, Jim Eager) provided the first Osceola record.
