An incred- ible count of 1200 Bohemian Waxwings was reported from Snowbasin, Weber, UT 21 Jan (KP). Lapland Longspurs were found at Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, UT 21 Dec (BO), Harold Crane W.M.A., Weber, UT 28 Dec (ph. MH), and Carson Lake, Churchill, NV 30 Dec–8 Jan (RL, MM). Snow Buntings were reported at Antelope Island 18 Dec (BO), Harold Crane W.M.A., Weber, UT 30 Dec (MH), and Golden Spike N.M., Box Elder, UT 10 Feb (BO et al.). Swamp Sparrows graced Las Vegas Bay, Lake Mead 28 Dec–19 Jan (Al, RL) and Min- den, Douglas, NV 31 Dec (NW, RW). Win- ter White-throated Sparrows were at Gun - lock, Washington, UT 18 Dec (KW, RF), Lytle Ranch, Washington, UT 23 Dec+ (RF), Red Rock Canyon, Clark, NV 27 Dec–18 Jan (JS), Pleasant Grove, Utah, UT 7 Feb (EH), and Caughlin Ranch, Washoe, NV 22 Feb (KDr et al.). Harris's Sparrows were found at Provo, Utah, UT 9 Dec (EH, CC), Dyer, Esmeralda, NV 17 Dec (MM), Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, UT 30 Dec (ph. MH), Lee Kay Ponds, Salt Lake, UT 1 Jan–2 Feb (ph. NJ, ph. JB), Fallon, Churchill, NV 30 Jan (CA), and St. George, Washington, UT 18 Jan+ (MH, ph. EP). An In- digo Bunting made a rare appearance in the Region at Las Vegas, Clark, NV 18 Dec (ph. DV). Rusty Blackbirds were found at Smith- Utah, UT 29 Jan (DS). Western Gulls con- tinued to increase in Utah along the Great Salt Lake, with reports from Lake Park, Salt Lake 6 Dec (MH) and Decker Lake, Salt Lake 21 Dec (BO). Two Lesser Black-backed Gulls were observed at Lake Mead 7 Dec–19 Jan (AL et al.), and singles were found at Lee Kay Ponds, Salt Lake, UT 21 Dec (BO), Sparks Marina, Washoe, NV 6-8 Jan (GS), Farming- ton Bay 4 Feb (DH), and Ogden Bay W.M.A., Weber, UT 26 Feb (ph. MH). An ad. Glau- cous Gull visited Lake Mead 11-19 Jan (AL). White-winged Doves were observed n. of expected range at Odgen, Weber, UT 15 Dec (KP et al.), Centerville, Davis, UT 24 Jan–4 Feb (SR, JBi), and Pahrump, Nye, NV 25 Jan–2 Feb (DF). Rufous Hummingbirds were previously unreported in the winter in the Great Basin, but 2 turned up this season. A young male was banded while visiting a feeder during a cold snap in Ivins, Washing- ton, UT 7 Dec (CR, NB, ph. RF), and an early ad. male was observed near Beatty, Nye, NV 27 Feb (LC). An ad. Yellow-bellied Sapsuck- er was photographed near the Zion Visitor Center 11-14 Dec (ph. RF et al.). FLYCATCHERS THROUGH FINCHES An Ash-throated Flycatcher was a nice sur- prise 1 Dec at H.B.V.P. (JBl), and a singing Plumbeous Vireo was equally unexpected at Las Vegas, Clark, NV 12 Dec (ph. DV). Blue Jays were observed at Vernal, Uintah, UT 2 Dec (BM) and at Santaquin, Utah, UT 11 Jan–5 Feb (JG, KM et al.). With only a hand- ful of previous accepted records in the Great Basin, fve reports of Winter Wren were un- precedented. The Winter Wren observed in the fall at Pahranagat remained through the Utah's third documented Winter Wren was found 27 November 2013 and remained through 7 January 2014 at Cottonwood Wash, Quail Creek State Park, Washington County.
