RLe). Audubon's Oriole seem to keep pushing northward, but one near Jeddo, Fayette 27 Feb (ph. DBr, LBr) was quite unexpected. A Scott's Ori - ole was at Study Butte, Brewster 14-30 Dec (ph. BWu, CO) and another was present at El Paso, El Paso 28 Jan+ (ph. BZ). Purple Finches of interest included singles at Plainview, Hale 13 Jan (ph. NP) and near Yorktown, De - witt 20 Jan (DMu). Certainly the best find in the East Texas Pineywoods this winter was a Common Redpoll at Na - cogdoches, Nacogdoches 10 Jan–1 Feb (†ph. JDa, ThD, ph. SO). Three birds were noted near Kenney, Austin 25 Dec (DV). A Blue Bunting was at Weslaco, Hidalgo 31 Jan+ (†SBi, ph. JuL, m.ob.). Casual in n.-cen. TX was a Dickcissel at a Fort Worth, Tarrant residence 26-28 Jan (TG), while singles more in line with recent occurrences were at Salineno, Starr 23 Jan+ (MBS, m.ob.); Victoria, Victoria 10 Jan (TB); and Lake Jackson, Brazoria 10 Feb (ph. KL, RoL). Up to 14 Yellow-headed Blackbirds were present at Anahuac N.W.R., Chambers 31 Dec–10 Jan (MT, BJS, et al.). Rusty Blackbirds west of the expected winter range included one at Utopia, Uvalde all period (MHe); one near Crosbyton, Crosby 1 Dec (KHi); 3 at Rio Bosque Wetlands Park, El Paso 10 Dec–9 Jan (JSp); one at Choke Canyon S.P., McMullen 30 Dec (ph. CW, JeB); and a surprising 28 near San Saba, San Saba 10 Jan (ph. SGl, GC). An impressive flock of 62 Rusty Blackbirds was located near Rockwall, Rockwall 9 Jan (GC). A Bronzed Cowbird near Lorenzo, Crosby 20 Feb (ph. ML) was very early. A Hooded Oriole at Seabrook, Harris 14 Dec–20 Feb (ph. HG, m.ob.) provid - ed a nice local record. Out-of-place Bullock's Orioles were at Alpine, Brewster 14 Dec–31 Jan (ph. CO) and at Beaumont, Jefferson 14 Feb This female Flame-colored Tanager drew lots of attention this season as it took up residence at Refugio, Refugio 11 January+ (here 12 January).
