An impressive ca. 15 Nelson's Sparrows were found at Shiloh Marsh, Merritt Island N.W.R., Volusia 16 Dec (D. Bales) and in these same marshes he also found ca. 25 Saltmarsh Sparrows. Other Saltmarsh Sparrow reports included 3 at Fort De Soto Park 7 Dec (EPl) and one at Peacocks Pocket, Merritt Island N.W.R., Brevard 7 Jan (JEa). Single Fox Sparrows turned up at Paynes Prairie Preserve S.P. 20 Dec (G. McDermott) and at Prairie Creek Preserve 20 Dec–16 Jan (C. Burney et al.). A Dark-eyed Junco was reported in St. Johns 31 Jan–20 Feb (D. Mier). A male Western Spindalis spent two months at Markham C.P. 1 Dec–1 Feb (D. Hall, T. Center et al.). It was a black-backed individual, potentially S. z. zena from s. Bahamas. A Bullock's Oriole was reported at Tallahassee 29 Jan+ (J. Langford, J. Cavanagh). A single Shiny Cowbird was far north at Tallahassee 28 Feb (J. Cavanagh). Rusty Blackbirds were restricted to three reports: 2 at Marl Bed Flats C.A., Sanford 2 & 5 Dec (J. Leavens); 150 at Tallahassee 3 Jan+ (ESc); up to 18 at Gainesville 16 Jan+ (L. Davis et al.). A female Brewer's Blackbird spent her fifth winter at Bayport (m. ob.). Others included up to 3 females noted at Feiser's Dairy, DeLeon Springs, Volusia 13 Dec and 18 Jan (MBr) and a surprising 130 found at Wacissa, Jefferson 28 Jan (D. Asbell, ESc, A. Wraithmell, E. DuVal). A rare Audubon's Yellow-rumped Warbler was found at Lake Santa Fe 17 Dec (D. Segal, E. Schwartz). Six Western Tanagers were reported including one at nw. Gainesville 20-23 Dec (D. Fagan); 1 at Sawgrass Lake Park 11-21 Jan (M. Burns et al.); 1 at Gainesville 24 Jan (B. Tarbox); 1 at Alligator Pt. 24-25 Jan (M. Lisitza, JMu); 2 at Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens 27- 30 Jan (M. Chappell, G. Williams, m. ob.). A male and female Rose-breasted Grosbeak appeared at Tiger Pt. 23-31 Dec (L. Bogiages, P. Blakeburn); a female was at Gulf Breeze 24 Dec (D. Timmons); another was at Pensacola 29 Dec (G. Bowman); a female at Largo Nature Preserve 2-29 Feb provided Pinellas with its second winter record (R. Cornelius). A male Dickcissel visited a feeder at DeLand, Volusia 11-12 Dec (P. May); another was found at Alachua 12-24 Jan (B. Wallace et al.); one appeared at the Big Talbot Island S.P. Spoonbill Pond, Duval 31 Jan (K. Eldredge).
