Photo by © Richard Robert. 3 • This Sabine's Gull was a first for the winter season in Newfoundland, seen at St. Vincent's 31 January through 7 February (here 31 Jan). Photo by © Bruce Mactavish. 4 • This Clark's Grebe was picked up along County Highway 2 in Lake County, Minne- sota on 7 December. The location was almost four miles inland from Lake Superior, and it is suspected that the bird landed on the roadway after mistaking its shiny surface for water. It was evaluated at Wildwoods Rehabilitation Center in Duluth, MN and released in good health on Lake Superior the following day. Its location of discovery is far from the species' restricted range in western Minnesota, and this sighting establishes a new late date for the state by more than two months!
